Purpose
This procedure provides a standard approach for service centers to verify the quality of completed vehicle repairs and services before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
Step-by-Step QA Process
1. Review Work Order
- Ensure all services and parts listed on RO are completed
- Confirm diagnostic and technician notes are complete
- Validate customer approvals for additional services
2. Systematic Visual and Mechanical Check
- Inspect under-hood components for leaks or loose connections
- Verify proper torque on all fasteners and wheels
- Check fluid levels and cleanliness
3. Electrical and Functional Testing
- Test lights, warning indicators, and infotainment systems
- Scan for fault codes and ensure none are present
- Check battery voltage and electrical connectivity
4. Operational Test Drive
- Drive vehicle to check braking, steering, and transmission
- Listen for unusual noises or vibrations
- Validate resolution of customer-reported issues
5. Interior and Exterior Final Review
- Ensure interior is clean and items are returned to original state
- Check for new scratches, dirt, or unfinished work
- Reset trip meters and reminders as required
6. Customer Documentation
- Prepare inspection summary and customer notes
- Attach service photos and signature (if required)
- Provide warranty and maintenance guidance
Final Certification
The QA inspector must confirm all checklist items have been verified, sign off the final form, and authorize the vehicle for release to the customer.
