Concrete Truck Plant Pre-Acceptance Inspection Procedure

Follow this pre-acceptance checklist to ensure concrete trucks meet plant safety, mechanical, and operational standards before commissioning.

Pre-Acceptance Test Procedures

The following test procedures should be performed during the pre-acceptance inspection to verify operational functionality of key systems:

Drum Rotation Test

  • Start engine and engage PTO according to manufacturer specifications
  • Test drum rotation in both charging and discharge directions
  • Verify smooth operation with no unusual noises or vibrations
  • Test variable speed control through full range (if equipped)
  • Run drum for minimum 15 minutes to check for overheating
  • Check that auto-rotation stop functions properly (if equipped)

Water System Test

  • Fill water tank to verify capacity and check for leaks
  • Test water pump operation and pressure
  • Verify all spray nozzles are functional and properly aligned
  • Test water meter accuracy (if equipped)
  • Check auto-water system function (if equipped)
  • Verify water tank drains properly

Hydraulic System Test

  • Check hydraulic oil temperature during drum operation
  • Verify hydraulic pressure readings are within specifications
  • Cycle all hydraulic functions to full extension and retraction
  • Test chute extension and folding operations
  • Check for smooth operation with no jerking or drift
  • Monitor for any leaks during operation

Road Test Procedure

  • Perform test drive on various road surfaces and conditions
  • Test acceleration, braking, and steering responsiveness
  • Verify transmission shifts smoothly through all gears
  • Listen for unusual noises from drivetrain or chassis
  • Test with drum rotating to check stability and handling
  • Verify instruments and gauges function during drive
